It’s a new year, new start, new me. At least that is my motto for 2014. This year is going to be about discovering me, who I am, who I wanna be and who God wants me to be. That’s why I’m creating this blog to journal it all.
2014 Resolutions:
- Be Happy: What that sounds incredibly hard right? Wrong. Being happy is a choice. This year I resolve to make that choice everyday.. okay maybe not everyday. But the majority of them, sometimes crap just happens.
- Reach my goal weight: Cliche’. I know. But this resolution isn’t just about reaching a certain number on the scale (150 pounds to be exact). It is about becoming a healthier me. I want to eat better, exercise more and not just so I can look a certain way. I want to be around for my daughter and other future kids for as long as possible. I want to be the healthiest version of me there is. Losing weight is just the added bonus.
- Organize my House: Yeah, it is not even that big of house but it needs work. So I am gonna go room by room, corner by corner and this is house is gonna look like awesome.
- Prepare for Baby # 2: So this goes along with being a healthier me. I can’t and do not want to bring another baby into this world without being healthier which is also good for the baby. Here is motivation for resolution # 2. But the crying toddler in the other room is a slight non-motivator. (I really love my toddler, I just hate the no sleeping thing…does this make me crazy for wanting baby 2?)
- Orange Rhino Challenge: Remember that crying toddler I mentioned. Well this year I vow to take the Orange Rhino Challenge. No yelling. I refuse to yell. Yes, she will still be disciplined but who says I can’t do that with grace and love and no yelling. Learn more about the challenge here.
This may seem like ALOT to take on in one year. That is only 365 days after all. The way I see it, it is all about perspective. It may be too much, I may fail or I may succeed. Who knows? What I do know. Is this year I want to become the best wife and mom I can be. So that will require work on my part. In the end I love my family and they deserve the best of me.
With God’s help I know this is possible. I never said I would undertake this alone. I am going to trust God to show me what he wants me to do and to guide me along the path of being a better me. I can already feel that big, I mean HUGE things are in store for 2014!
